Rebecca Romijn And Amy Poehler Hold Rescue Dog Competition!

– All right, y’all I’m here
with Amy Poehler and the host of the American Rescue
Dog Show, Rebecca Romijn. (crowd cheering) Y’all can catch it on
Hallmark in just a few days, but we figured why wait for the premiere when we can host a preliminary
pageant right here. That’s right. – [Rebecca] Why not? – This is a little something
we’re calling Radest Rescue and I’m happy to say all these dogs just found forever homes. That’s super cool. (crowd cheering) Rebecca’s doing the honors of hosting, and at the end Amy and I get
to present the Raddest Rescue with this very cool trophy. Of course since each of these pups has a distinctly different
and adorable talent– Nicely done, Vanna. Talent– (laughing) We’ll need some common criteria to judge, so it all comes down to
charm and personality. So Rebecca, take it away. Who is first? – Okay, the first pup is from the Best in Belly Rubs category. – Okay. – We have Clyde. (applause) Owner Michael. Clyde is a 130 pound seven
year old Landseer Newfoundland. He’s a certified therapy dog. He’s visited more than 10,000 patients. – It’s like Nana from Peter Pan! – Yeah, right? – You wanna do a belly rub? Down. Belly rub. – [Kelly] Oh my gosh. Swimming. (laughing) All right, who’s next? – All right, next we have
Goliath and his human Hyde. – [Kelly] Oh my gosh. – [Rebecca] Goliath is a
ten year old great dane who thinks he’s a lap dog. – [Kelly] Beautiful. – [Rebecca] He was sitting
on my lap backstage. He’s 140 pounds now, but when he arrived at the shelter he was a skeleton at 86 pounds. – Aw. – He’s made such a turn around his friends said he aged
backwards seeming younger once he got healthy. – A little Benjamin Button. All right. – So handsome. Like the George Clooney of dogs. (laughing) – [Rebecca] Better with age. – So I hear Goliath is over
six feet tall, is that true? – Yeah, he towers over most at about 6’5. – Wow. – Let me show you guys. – You can show me from there. (laughing) I’m totally kidding. – Ready let’s go. Come on. – [Kelly] Yeah! (applause) Oh my God. – [Amy] Good doggie. – [Kelly] So beautiful. – [Amy] So beautiful. – Oh my gosh, he was just
hanging at a rescue center? Like, that’s crazy. All right. So this next category is the
one I can most relate to. – Yes, Best in Talk. – Yes. Yes. – Radar with his owner Darlene. He’s a seven year old
chihuahua french bulldog mix. He has some great hobbies
including rolling in the dirt after a bath and snorting when he sleeps, but his favorite thing is yapping away. – [Amy] Oh my God, he
looks like a little Ewok. – Ready, Radar? (imitating yapping sounds) (laughing) (dog howls) – I mean, I just wanna say you
deserve a treat as well girl. You nailed it. (applause) That was amazing. So who’s last, Rebecca? – Finally we have a competitor from the Best in Wrinkles category. – Oh my God I love my job. – This is Beef and his human Jerry. Now Beef is an 11 year old English bulldog and two time shelter survivor. – [Kelly] Two time? – His friends call him four
teeth Beef on Instagram because he only had four teeth. What? – [Kelly] Oh my God. – He only has four– Those are his only teeth? – Hi, Beef. – We had to pull ’em off. – Oh no. – Except for the four that he has there. – Two time rescue survivor? That’s amazing. – That’s like a real survivor. – We actually had Beef on
Best in Rescue last year in the Best in Snoring category. – And he won. – And he won. – [Kelly] You just tryna dominate, Beef. I like it. So, what is Beef’s talent this year? – Beef competed for Best
in Wrinkles this year. So, what you see is kind
of what his talent is. – [Kelly] Yes. You know what, you just exude it, Beef. – He does. He really is a superstar. He’s awesome. – [Kelly] Oh my gosh, he’s so cute. – [Amy] These dogs are so brave. (applause) – All right, well, while all these beautiful
dogs are winners, there can only be one Raddest Rescue. So, what are you thinking? – Oh gosh, this is so tough. I mean, Beef has an ambivalence
that I’m attracted to. (laughing) And our big guy there at the
end was so sweet and so fluffy, it’s really hard to pick. I have to say, I feel like for what we needed
today Radar really delivered. (laughing) – All right, I think
(crowd drowns out speaker) And the trophy goes to Radar! – Radar! All right, Radar. – [Kelly] Let’s bring him up here! – Congratulations, Radar! – Hi. Hi. Hi. So that’s yours. Yes. – I just wanna say that your
voice was just as beautiful. – [Darlene] Thank you. – [Kelly] Just as beautiful.
